On my way to Merida...

I traveled today to Cancun; tomorrow I'll be driving to Merida, about 200 miles from Cancun to meet my son for his graduation. I like to be early at the airport because I don't like surprises... and guess what... I left my passport at home... so I had time to go back home and get it... when I got back to Ft. Lauderdale International Airport the airline was really packed... I just prayed to be on the plane... because I was, not late... but near to the flight closing time... There was people upset arguing and I start praying for them... I made some jokes, smiled... and as the bible said... the soft answer relax the anger... I don't know why, but one of the airline's employees asked me where I was traveling. I said Cancun, and she moved me to the front of the counter... and I checked in almost immediately... having enough time to go trough security (enhanced security level today) and to relax for almost 20 minutes at the gate... God... is great...

Truth or dare?

One of the things that is surprising to me today, is the low value that many people assign to their own promises. Teenagers don't believe their parents, because they never fulfill their promises; Couples say "I'll stand by you forever" and few months later they walk on the opposite direction; politicians make promises to earn votes, and once the election is done, they forgot about it. I remember one of the first things I learned from my grandmother it was the value of my word. "A gentleman always fulfill his promises, a man with no word has no honor" and I learned to live by that principle. Few weeks ago, I was having a discussion with one of the leaders on the youth ministry at Flamingo Road Church about some technical difficulties we were experiencing during the broadcasting of our Student Service online, and I challenged him to fix the failures, so if he would complete the task with no errors, I will do my hair like him... (He had a Mohawk haircut with ...

Reencounter...

Technology is great to be in contact with our beloved ones, few years ago, our family was divided by the distance, but thanks to messengers, chats and videoconference programs we have been in contact... but two days ago, I had the opportunity to meet with my sisters Tony, Paty and Martha and my brother Jose Antonio in the Family Ranch "La Sarana" on the middle of the mountains that surround Mexico City. We were there with no wifes, sons or friends... just the five of us. It was the first time that we were together since fifteen years ago ... wow... it was an incredible night. We were in the ranch having a great time full of memories, forgiveness, love, food, medical exams and fun. The seed of love and unity that our mother Sol planted many years ago in us, was giving us plenty of fruit. The experience to be together again, is somethng that we are planning to repeat as soon as we find another opportunity.
