And they lived happily ever after...

This is where most fairy tales end. The prince and princess marry and ride off into the sunset to begin their new life together as husband and wife, a life full of promise, romance, and above all, love. (Check out Shreck, Sleeping beauty, Snow White and others...) But no one has ever told us how this is supposed to happen, or why it succeeds if it does. How a marriage can be a fairy tale come true, and how to "happily ever after" happens? That is only the beginning... Today, I went to the Pete and Julie's wedding... awesome... a dream come true... great service, great sermon by Pastor Garland, a lot of wishes, toasts, music, joy, party and fun... but... that is not and Happy Ending... is just a great beginning. The Best Man said few words, but the most wise words he mentioned was... "I hope you keep Christ as the center of your marriage, if you do that, I'll warranty you a happily ever after life" That's a true that we have to keep in mind not just at th...

A new family member...

Well, it has been a long time since my last post, but here I am updating my blog... there have been a lot of things happening... Meetings, projects, friends leaving... so... I have many things to write about... but something that really is moving my world around is... a new family member... Let me introduce you to Missy... a Siberian Husky bissextile dog... yes... believe it or not, Missy was born on 2-29-08, that means her next birthday will be... in 2-29-12! That's odd... so next year we will have to discuss when to celebrate it... if on the 28th of February or the 1st of March... anyway will be a great celebration... with confetti, balloons and treats included! Well, long story short… My daughters were asking for a dog for almost three years, since we had Bruno, (A noble Boxer Dog) that we had to gave when we moved to our current apartment… finally, after several discussions about it, commitments and resources, we went to a Pet store to search for it… Tania made about a thousand...

Fish... and expectations.

Last Sunday I got a great time with my beloved one at "Garcia's" restaurant in Miami, by the river. We got a delicious "Ceviche", a Lobster Bisque, a Shrimp Cocktail, and a fresh fish fillet. While we where eating, we got an opportunity to had a little chat on my expectations and what I have. She asked me what I think of one relative and I mentioned few qualities and then she asked me if I was able to see those qualifications on her, and at some point she asked me if some one charming, elegant or social would fulfill my expectations, and with no doubt my answer was, that she, my dearly loved was the one who fulfill all my expectations. The root of many conflicts and separation on a couple starts with unfulfilled expectations. Some one is waiting for something that they will never get, then become frustrated, upset and starts looking for some “ideal” person… and after that… the affair is on the door. When I got married, I accepted Dora as she is, with her virtues...

My greatest blessing.

9 years ago, I was having the most difficult time in my entire life. After a complete breakdown, I was ready to take my life on my own hands and God showed me his mercy and I knew for sure there was a real God. I remember my first kind of prayer was “All right, I understood. You want me to stay… I’ll stay here, but I don’t know what to do with my life… please show me the way, because I’m lost. Show me the path you want me to follow and I’ll do it. You want me to stay on this life, please, show me the way”. That was my first prayer… and the answer came to me. Few days later, He sent me an Angel on a shape of a woman. Some one with great patience, love and understanding that took care of that task and wisely she guided me to Christ, not inviting me to church or talking to me about Jesus, or judging me for my past actions… she just accepted me like I was… and prayed for me. Instead, she showed me Jesus on her daily actions, until finally I found Christ! My life was completely changed, tra...

Awakenings:

Some weekends I expended with my grandma Martha, she told me few of the Aesop's Fables, and I particularly remember a short one; The Ants and the Grasshopper. The ants were spending a fine winter's day drying grain collected in the summertime. A Grasshopper, perishing with famine, passed by and earnestly begged for a little food. The Ants inquired of him, "Why did you not treasure up food during the summer?' He replied, "I had not leisure enough. I passed the days in singing." They then said in derision: "If you were foolish enough to sing all the summer, you must dance supperless to bed in the winter." I always thought: “Those are mean ants”, but the true is that we have to be awake in order to reach our God’s potential. The entire series of Antology where based on a Bible Verse: Proverbs 6: 9-11 ESV 9 How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to ...

Priorities in Life:

The saying “Behind every great man there is a great woman” has variations. Behind every good man… Behind every successful man… And I’ll add my own: “Behind Every Great Woman is a Great Man” I do not really know a successful man or woman that reach the top just by himself, and this is because we where created to complement each other. We cannot try to reach our potential just on a selfish way, it has to be a team effort, and in order to reach the top of the hill, we have to re-set the priority in our life’s: 1. My relation with God 2. My relation with my wife 3. My relation with my kids 4. The rest of the world, (Ministry, work, friend other family) If you mess with this simple rules you may be accomplish some goals in your life, but you’ll never reach your God’s potential in your life and here is why: If I am in good shape with God, then I am strong enough to face the challenges on the relation with my wife. If I’m ok with God and my wife, together we can help our kids to grow and be s...

Five Fingers:

Today I was making some video tests for our next series “ MyNakedPastor.com ” and while I playing with my hands in front of the camera, I was able to turn and watch my self with a 15 seconds delay caused by the live streaming trough the Internet. It was funny to my hands in to the camera and memories came to my mind: I asked once my mother if i was “The One”, the favorite, if she loved me more than my siblings, and she answered me with a great wisdom, she show me her hand and asked me: -what do you see? Five fingers, was my immediate answer, and she told me: “Well, son I have 2 sons and 3 daughters, for me they are just like my fingers; every one is different, but for me the all five are important, I love you as much as the others, but every one of you is special to me. You don’t need to compete for love, because God give me plenty of love for each one of you.” Since then, I start looking at my siblings on a different way, we where able to be united on all the times, for good and not s...
