Domino

When I was young, I loved to play Domino with my sisters, and I loved to do "Couples", trying to defeat the other couple and helping my partner to win the game. But my sisters where busy most of the time, and then I liked to put all the pieces standing close to each other, making some shapes... then pushing one single piece and observing how all other pieces felt down... Years later I found that is called "The Domino Effect". One single piece is capable to affect all others.

We all have "key" moments in our life, and after those, our destiny is changed… just like some one pushing our first piece, and all others start to fall, following the path…

My pastor is now preparing a new series called Domino, and it is not about how to play... instead is about decisions, how one can impact our life causing "The Domino Effect". I have great expectations on what I and my family will learn from that… and the impact that will have on my future.

Truth or dare?

One of the things that is surprising to me today, is the low value that many people assign to their own promises. Teenagers don't believe their parents, because they never fulfill their promises; Couples say "I'll stand by you forever" and few months later they walk on the opposite direction; politicians make promises to earn votes, and once the election is done, they forgot about it. I remember one of the first things I learned from my grandmother it was the value of my word. Few weeks ago, I was having a discussion with one of the leaders on the youth ministry at Flamingo Road Church about some technical difficulties we were experiencing during the broadcasting of our Student Service online, and I challenged him to fix the failures, so if he would complete the task with no errors, I will do my hair like him... (He had a Mohawk haircut with ...

Reencounter...

Technology is great to be in contact with our beloved ones, few years ago, our family was divided by the distance, but thanks to messengers, chats and videoconference programs we have been in contact... but two days ago, I had the opportunity to meet with my sisters Tony, Paty and Martha and my brother Jose Antonio in the Family Ranch "La Sarana" on the middle of the mountains that surround Mexico City. We were there with no wifes, sons or friends... just the five of us. It was the first time that we were together since fifteen years ago ... wow... it was an incredible night. We were in the ranch having a great time full of memories, forgiveness, love, food, medical exams and fun. The seed of love and unity that our mother Sol planted many years ago in us, was giving us plenty of fruit. The experience to be together again, is somethng that we are planning to repeat as soon as we find another opportunity.
